Run like a girl Trail Running retreat

In December of 2016, I had the  opportunity to attend the a Run Like a Girl Trail Running Retreat in the heart of Costa Rica.  This retreat was nestled the mountains between Chirripo National Park and La Amistad International Park in the completely magically and almost other worldly Chakra Ecolodge.   Our 'schedule' for the week included various trail runs within the mountains (including our big day running 32 kilometres to the top of Cerro Ena Summit), tree climbing, rappelling down waterfalls, incredible locally cooked Costa Rican cuisine, daily yoga, spending time on the beaches of Dominical and ultimately soaking in all this time to be present and fully experience all this place had to offer.  This retreat was so incredibly special, being fully immersed in the wild, off the grid, amongst bad ass women, and amazing guides.

While my time spent in Costa Rica was relatively short, only being 10 days, I wouldn't take back the any of the time I had.  As a undergrad in 'Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership', I felt like this trip was not only a time to relax and enjoy, but also one that was completely conducive and practical to my own learning and understanding of the field, guiding and learning the insides of how to run a successful outdoor retreat.  I am so internally grateful for the time I spent among new friends and beautiful, wild places.
